Getting lost in soft pastel workshop

£22.00

Getting lost is the fourth in my Spring Series of online soft pastel workshops for 2026. The workshop was pre-recorded demo while I was teaching in St Ives School of Painting. It’s why I chose the St Ives street as part of our series. I plan to share more of St Ives with you when I am down there.

This session looks at street scenes in a relaxed, accessible way. We’ll explore structure, suggestion and how to simplify buildings and spaces without getting caught up in detail, oh, and my love of pots full of red pelargoniums.

Description

It’s all recorded so you can repeat and work at your own time and pace. When you buy the workshop, please access the link within the website receipt for more information in your account on my website.

You can paint along with me or just watch me and absorb the process to repeat at a later date. I suggest watching and drawing a second time, as it’s hard to do both things well, in my experience. I’m using ( approx 20 x 30 cm ) Uart 400 but you can use Pastelmat for a similar effect and Unison Colour pastels. You don’t have to use sanded papers but they make a huge difference to the vibrancy of your artwork when used with good quality pigments like Unison Colour.
