Inspired by one of my favourite beaches, this original soft pastel painting captures the soft light, rolling sea and open sense of space at Mother Ivey’s Bay on the Cornish coast.
I love returning to this stretch of coastline, where the light, colour and sea breeze always seem to shift from one moment to the next. I wanted to capture the calm atmosphere of the bay, using expressive pastel marks and soft layers of colour to suggest movement in the landscape and sea.
The framed artwork measures 16 x 12 inches and is beautifully presented in a Cornish-style white frame, ready to hang.
