I will be using Unison Colour Soft Pastels to create a waterfall. Moving water is challenge that pastels love. It’s all about capturing sparkling greens and the magic of falling water. We’ll cover techniques for foliage and trees and keeping those greens and the water sparkling. This workshop can be bought as an individual session or part of my discounted, Autumn Series.

Description

My waterfalls in soft pastel workshop is the seventh in my Autumn Series of workshops. We are tackling moving water and keeping your foliage lively working with greens. In this artwork, the challenges are the depth, variety in the foliage and sparkling water. I’ll share with you my best tips for tackling laying of pastels to create a soft glow. If you haven’t booked your space already you can join the Live session on 29th November at 10am -12 UK time or you can access as a recording at a time and pace that suit you. The Live video and recording is hosted in a dedicated Facebook Group or you can access the recording in other formats, you prefer.

You can paint along with me or just watch me and absorb the process to repeat at a later date. I suggest watching and drawing a second time, as it’s hard to do both things well, in my experience. I’m using ( approx 20 x 30 cm ) Fisher 400 (similar to Uart400) and Unison Colour pastels, learn more about the workshops here. You don’t have to use sanded papers but they make a huge difference to the vibrancy of your artwork when used with good quality pigments like Unison Colour.

When you buy the workshop, I will invite you to the Facebook Group via a link in the website receipt. If you are accessing it Live, the Facebook opens the day before the workshop. If it’s as a recording, the Facebook Group has the recorded video, bespoke colour chart and all the reference materials within the Facebook Group for you to access listed under “Announcements” within the Facebook Group.

Excellent! I enjoyed every minute of this wonderful workshop. Nina is a very thoughtful and perceptive artist with the skill to teach clearly and effectively. Her workshops are so much fun. I prefer to watch the entire video, so as not to miss any of her valuable tips and techniques then restart the video when I am ready to paint in my own time. Nina’s sincerity, enthusiasm and commitment shine through in every workshop. I wholeheartedly recommend them.
