I’ve never been asked to draw a Cao da Serra de Aires portrait before, these two live in Jersey and I’ve enjoyed drawing them.

‘The standard was recognized in 1932 by the Clube Portugues de Canicultura.The Serra de Aires Dog is quite popular in Portugal but nearly unknown in Euroge (where it is usually simply called the “Portugese Sheepdog”)
In Portugal,the Cao da Serra de Aires tends and drives the flocks ofsheeps, goats or cattle, particularly in the Alantejo and Ribatejo regions, where it adapted well to the dry and flat areas as well as the harsh climate (freezing and windy in winter, torrid and dusty in summer).’
