Over the past few years, our online community has blossomed, and I’m so excited to launch my new online soft pastel classes for Autumn 2024. Whether you’re looking to refine your skills or build new ones, these workshops are designed to boost your confidence and creativity.

I’ll be covering the topics listed below as well as areas that come up during the workshops. You can buy all 8 or individual workshops which will be released later, depending on your preference. You can join at any stage as the workshops are all recorded so you can catch up on missed weeks.

My two hour demonstrations, will, as before, show you my process, meaning you can learn from techniques that I will explain and demonstrate. You’ll learn some pastel techniques which you can use for your own projects and develop artwork taking inspiration from scenes that I’ll share with you.

I’m keeping our group small, you will find as well as enjoying your development as an artist, you will also be part of our friendly online community.

  • I will be recording demonstrations for flexibility, so you can watch at a time to suit you or at a pace that suits you. Take as long as you need to complete the workshop.
  • You can either access the workshops via Zoom or on Facebook – let me know which you prefer.
  • I have set up a special Facebook Group for Autumn Series members for people to share and gain feedback and support on your artworks from me and our online friends.

I will be using Unison Colour Soft Pastels on specialist sanded pastel cards with liquid to create painted pastels. Click here to read more about my suggested materials list. The list below gives you an outline of what we’ll cover. We’ll add to it along the way, responding and adapting as we find new topics to inspire us.

I’ve created a special discount, a way of saying thank you for your support and enthusiasm. The 2 hour courses are £16.00 each or when you buy the 8 Week Autumn Series, there’s a 10% discount applied, so it’s £115.00 for 8 sessions, rather than the full price of £128.00.

This series will be brimming with tips for mixed media approaches to elevate your pastel paintings to new heights. We are starting off with a celebration of summer flowers. Picture yourself in a vibrant meadow, finding your pastel mojo and creating a masterpiece that would make a fantastic gift.

We’ll journey through my favourite evening walks, seascapes and sunset beach walks, quirky streets, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around us to spark your creativity. As we move through the seasons, we’ll tackle the challenges of perspective using a vineyard for inspiration and the colours of autumnal trees, equipping you with the confidence to approach new scenes with ease.

The picturesque St Ives coastline and charming fishing boats will help us simplify complex objects, making them approachable for all skill levels. And let’s not forget the seashore, where we’ll delve into the flotsam and jetsam, exploring texture techniques that will make your artwork sparkle.

My goal is to help you build your skills and confidence as a soft pastel painter, all while enjoying the support and camaraderie of our wonderful online community. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, these workshops are designed to inspire and uplift you on your creative journey.
